Hey folks-

Let me preface by saying I'm new here, but am very adept at RC functions, etc. (electric) I own a couple Traxxis cars, and a Megatech sailboat.

I recently inhereted a electric boat from a friend though... It's an MRP "OPC Tunnel Hull, Deluxe Version". Came to me a little battered up, without manuals, etc. I'm hoping to find someone familiar with the set-up that can assist me in getting this thing going...

My first question is why the heck does this animal have 2 female and 2 male ni-cad battery receptors?!?!? It's really stumping me.

My apologies if this is rookie, but this is my first venture into the motorized boat world. I'm used to trim adjustments on my sailboat or replacing tie-rods in my cars!!!

TIA-

Nathan

it's made to use 2 6-cell battery packs.MRP made several versions of the same hull, in electric and Nitro powered. The same hull also came as the Bud Light or the Mirage. With the Bud version, you paid extra for the decals. Really, manufacturers would pay royalty fees for the use of the Bud name and the money was usually given to a charity.

...you use either the male or female plugs, depending on the battery pack connector you have on your batteries. Or do these batteries come with connectors attached for both the male and female plugs?

Most battery packs sold now have what is known as the Tamiya connectors. The Kyosho style had the male/female connections reversed.
