I am pretty new to all this and so I have a question.

Has anyone used cockpit master backyard edition and if so how does it stack up for realism.

I have the GWS Tigermoth with the 350 upgrade. My first so I am very nervous about crashes and such. I will have it ready to go soon and have been putting in some time on CM backyard. I am using a hitec laser 4 for the controller.

It seems almost too easy to fly. I have also tried the tigermoth lite with FMS and that is quite a bit more difficult. Anyone know which isthe more realistic? :D

Are there any more aircraft for CM that anyone knows of?

Thanks in advance for any help.

IMHO ...dont bother.

Cockpit master backyard and the regular version jsut dont stand up.

FMS ( which is free by the way, and you can get hundreds of planes online ) is better actually....not very realistic in the physics....but still better than CM.

I got CM and backyard on a whim to see if they were any good......nope.

nope.

nope.

((try the trial version of CM to see for yourself...the full version does not add any thing better))

Go for FMS if you want free.

otherwise get Realflight, aerofly, Reflex, etc..... they are the only ones that will help your skills.

if you are into soaring, sailplanes....you can get Slope Soaring Simulator and/or CRRCSIM for free also.....they are pretty good sims for the non-powered folks.......did I say free too?

CM is just a glorified low budget arcade game.

Realflight G2 is a pretty darn good simulator....a bit spendy, but is nice.....and according to Real Flights website , they are coming out with G3 soon.....so Im sure you could get G2 for a pittence in the near future when the new version comes to the shelves.

Thanks, artmonster. I suspected as much....just too easy.
I think I will wait for a buy on G2. Good suggestion. :)

HI,

Tower Hobbies has the full version (not the "lite") of G2 for $149.99 right now.

Ernie

Sad, but true. Oh yeah, the support is also very poor.

Otherwise it's a great sim ;)
