It is very difficult isn't it. I guess you answered you own question :) (Please post if you find an easier route)

Easy. If you have a computer radio with P-mixing. Just setup a switch to reverse pitch and cyclic!!!
hehe

Rather defeats the purpose of the excercise my esteemed colleague, besides, I am not a fan of switching to inverted or reversed, I can see it causing more problems for me, better to have the controls remain consistant and let let the head do the work until it becoms instinctual with a proper 3D setup, that way the heli becomes an extension of you, where as If I have to flip switches and fly " normal" all the time I just dont feel like I am becoming truly aquainted with the heli , Know what I mena :)

I learned backwards flight using the Real Flight G2 Sim. Took me about a month of work about 30 min. a day. and am able to do it fairly well.
I still have to think a little in the turns when i do it in real life as not to doink it into the ground.
One day we all should be able to do it backwards without thinking to hard. Too life is not like the Matrix where we can just download the information directly into our brains. Although, that wouldn't be any fun would it?

ah but do we only tell ourselves that coz we cant :)
would be tempting to be able, then you could concentrate
on just flying the darn thing with out having to worry about crashing it !! :D
I suppose its the dangerous edge that makes so exhileratinggg !
not brave enough to really try it yet, can do loops though :p

Both sticks come together or move in opposite directions, depending on what way you are trying to turn. start the turn with the rudder and add opposite aileron to kick around the turn

and is elevator behaves like inverted, back is go, forward is stop.
been making a little progress with it , more time :D

Yes, forward sick to go up and back pressure to go down. A lot to think about...................but hopefully you'll get to the point where you don't even think about it.

It's been about 6 or 7 years since I learned backwards flight, and I don't fully remember the scenario except that I did a lot of slow "fast hovering" speed backwards in straight lines in front of myself with 1/2 pirouettes at the end. One word of caution, be carefull to not concentrate solely on one mode of flight,..i.e. do some forward flight also intermixed during your training sessions with backwards flight. This is one piece of advice I wish someone would have given me a long time ago. I was just flying inverted a bit when I decided to learn backwards inverted. I concentrated on that one mode of flight for so long that I'm now totally comfortable backwards inverted, even at high speed a foot off the ground, but "normal" forwards inverted is a bit antsy for me,.. not fully comfortable with it.

The one thing i remember was flying backwards straight was not too hard. Turns on the other hand took a little more concentration and that I had to work on.
This is what I did to start teaching myself the turns...I ended up just hovering then while doing slow pirohuettes, adding a little back cyclic and feeding in a little rudder to corespond with the direction i'm spinning. Ever so slightly it would do itty bitty backwards circles and from there I would progress to larger and much faster circles.

Hey, that's a pretty good tip robdoyle. I'm going to try that next.
I'm also "experimenting" backward flight with my Logo 10. I can bring it down fast in a straight line, it's the stopping and the turning that make me PANIC! I have to slow down and try an easier maneuver.

GWRight That is the greatest piece of advice I have gotten yet. I am going to pass that on to everyone I fly with. I can't wait till I can just flow with the heli without THINKING!!
