Since ive been flying my twinjet, ive been dying to have some combat with this thing!!!! The only thing that is stopping me is
A) its £70 a pop each time i need a new one.
B) people wont be too happy if i smash into their plane and destroy it!
I have dreams of smashing one out of the sky hahaha :)
Anyone else have these evil thoughts?

I did glow combat for a summer, wasn't my thing. But it is considered that when you are in combat, the other person agrees that you may collide and risk losing a entire plane. Nobody has financial obligations except to theirselves.
That being said, there is also a combat forum!! It needs posts tho.

You have it all wrong. Get the right setup and it is a blast. I have a plane that has been in about 100 Midairs. The plane is still flying. A typical weekend day I may have 3-5 Midairs and repairs are none to 5 minutes and less then $5.00. I would guess that I spend more money on replacing worn out batteries then I do on damage based repairs.
There are many things to watch out for else the repair bills can add up but done right the cost is not even worth thinking about. Last 4 times out I think I had one prop break.
Combat can be fun!!!!!

Zagi is not the best choice for combat. It is ok but you Really are better off with an EPP plane note EPS. I use Wingwarrior's "Raider" But there are many EPP version out there. I find the Raider Ultimate spar is bullet proof!!

I have a clipped wing FMA razor, with a big fat carbon arrow shaft spar, metal gear servos, and coroplast elevons....it eats zagi's for lunch...bring it on!!!!

I have been building several combat prototypes the last few seasons. Unfortunately my clubmates have not followed suit. No one likes to be in the air with my combat planes because 'dogs will hunt'.
I could impale a Zagi (et al) and survive. I designed this one to take a Zagi impact and still be able to recover. Planes with a prop on the front are more destructive than pushers. Hopefully I will damage your electronics or a control surface. Flying wings don't recover well from being smacked in to an unstable tumble or spin. Alastor can find its way after even the ugliest tumble if I have 20-30 feet of altitude and some battery left. Oh yeah, wings can't turn and burn either.

Stone axe,
Looks like it would be fun to do combat with that style plane. However I have desided that I will not fly brushed motors any more. I think that a solid hit on the tail would rip it apart expecially if it is my over powered Zagi like wing. (typical Combat power is about 20 AMPs and 8 cell's for me)
Hell I would not want it to hit myself even let alone a plane with a tail.

Every time I fly it's like combat. Even if you're a person standing on the ground, you're not safe. ;)
I fly wth some guys that when two planes are in the air they have about 30 seconds before they focus on the wrong plane and crash the real one they're flying. I was racing a buddy once, we took off and I noticed he was watching my plane while his plane climbed off in the distance. I saw he was a pretty high so I walked over and said - "Hey that plane is flying great" - he nodded and said thanks. Then I said "But it's my plane - your's is about 1/2 mile that way. He looked and promptly crashed it. I almost couldn't get my plane down, I was laughing so hard. No damage to his plane, just his pride.
I would love to do some combat and have a wing that is EPS, but 50% PolyUrathane and pretty strong. I almost cracked the earth a few times, so I think it could cut apart someone's EPP plane. It's a bullet too - so no chance you're gonna catch me. The PCW and Devastator (both EPP) are still in the box, but if I could find someone who wants to take the chance, I'd build it quickly.

Try these:
We have 13 guys in our club in Jackson, TN flying them and they are a blast.
Rarely damage after a midair, they usually spin like a butterfly, and fly out.
