This is a trial forum. How can it get a fair trial if moderators snatch threads from other forums and move them here?

Thanks for your feedback, but we encourage moderators to move threads from other forums into more appropriate locations. We also encourage members to let us know if there's an old thread that would be useful if moved to a new forum.

If people post crash threads elsewhere (maybe they don't know about it yet) it is only reasonable to have them moved here.
The Topic is appropriate, isn't it??
A "fair trial" should include all threads regarding crahes.
I really don't see any conflict of interest with the Mods moving the threads to here.
I've been at RCGroups for quite a while, and stil mistakenly post at the wrong place. The Mods simply move them to the appropriate forum.

It's important that posts with a crash as the topic be moved here. That's the point of a trial forum, to see if it "makes the cut" in terms of traffic and posts, and to see if it pans out as a a useful, distinct topic area. Moving threads here will be important in determining these things.

Tic's "Bandit stall/spin accident" (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270697) thread was moved here. It's a thread about the flying characteristics and pitfalls of a popular hotliner and it belongs right where he put it in the High Performance forum, or perhaps the Electric Sailplanes forum. To move a thread here just because it contains the "c" word makes no sense at all. How do you expect people interested in Bandits to find it? Any model can crash.
On the other hand, in an effort to cooperate with this effort I started "Plane hits parked car" (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270695), with pictures that show the damage caused and invites discussion of how the incident might have been worse, and so on. The type of plane, some sort of glow plug-powered balsa model, is largely irrelevent. The matter of interest is the crash itself, and it therefore seems to fit in here.
What's next, a "Yellow Models" forum that gets every thread about a model that's colored yellow? Do we need to use eupemisms like "trajectory intersection with a non-atmospheric entity" to keep our threads where they belong?

I think the point of the forum is to discuss crashes, what may have caused them, and what could have prevented them. And, of course, just to see some neat crash videos!
I agree that model specific posts, intended to warn about a crash because of the flying characteristics of a particular model, don't belong here.
If a post is or becomes more about the model than the crash, it belongs somewhere else.

Mike, your name was mysteriously absent in the New Forum thread when we were considering the Crash Forum.
He isn't criticizing the appropriatness of the forum. Rather he is questioning the move of thread to the crash forum.
And sometimes the mods are a bit overzealous in there moves. This is all part of the process. Something happens, if we don't like it, we comment. We are after all the customers/supporters of the site.

I didn't bother responding to the comment myself because I assumed everyone could see that it didn't make any sense.

My comment was one of compassion... :)

The "crash" of a specific type of aircraft is of interest to those flying similar planes, so should be allowed to stay in there appropriate forum. Just my 2cents worth.
