I think duratraxx makes a stadium truck in that range. Or maybe a
nitro sport or used tmaxx/savage.

you will be hard pressed to find a 4wd truck in that price range. my first
truck was the savage ss kit which i have had for about 2 months now. the
kit cost 330 and all the other stuff i have added/needed including radio
totals somewhere in the 500+ range.

good luck - let us know what you get.

If you want a good truck you will for that price you will have to buy a
used one. I am selling a used t-maxx 2.5 for 300. let me know if you are
interested. The truck has aluminum hop up parts on it.

Hi,
Hop ups means performance parts.

A t-maxx comes with mostly plastic parts. The hop ups on my t-maxx are
aluminum. Makes the t-maxx tougher.I fired up the motor last night and
runs like a champ. There is a problem with the suspension that I will
have fixed before I sell it. When I sell it it will be like new except
it will have 200 dollars aluminum parts on it and for the motor and the
bodies. The motor is a traxxas 2.5 very fast the thing will do about 40.
It has had about 2 gallons of fuel through it. Here is a link with a
maxx and some hop up parts that go along with it. comes with radio.

http://www.rcmodels.com/rc-tra-4910.html

I will send you some photos if you are still interested.

PS I will give you a charger and battery pack for the ez start system.
These do not come with a new t-maxx. It will come with the instructional
dvd which has information about breaking in the motor and other general
information.

A new maxx is 389
the new charger was 25
the battery was 10
the aluminum hop ups were 200 some still in original packaging.

If you bought it you would need 12 AA batteries and nitro fuel
and you are ready to run.

The "what are Hop-Up parts" is a dead giveaway that you haven't done
much research yet. I don't mean this as an insult or anything, just that you
would be well served by scanning popular sites and message boards to get
some basic information on the hobby. You could google this NG for url's to
info and how-to sites.

Electric vehicles don't do well in the wet. For that matter, the
receivers on nitro vehicles don't like the wet either but electronic speed
controls on electric cars are especially sensitive so if you anticipate
running in mud, you should look into waterproofing your electronics to avoid
expensive mishaps.

I agree that the original poster would benefit from some extra
research and hanging around the local track. It'll give him an idea
of the work and $$$ required in this hobby.

I say stay away from alluminum hop ups entirely They add weight and do
not flex they bend(and very easy).I use RPM parts exclusively. They are
pretty tuff and not too exspensive.Your first upgrade should be a
better steering servo. One that has lots of torque this will help you
to turn corners faster at higher speeds.
Second is a NIMH humppack cell and charger.Third upgrade get some
bearing for your bellcranks(steering)fourth get a nice pipe(exaust).Of
course these all all upgrage for a nitro t-maxx.Which hits the mud
good. A little vasoline around the battery box and on the servo
gaskets in will run in puddles.(if done properly)
