Hey Guys,

A friend and I did a cross country flight this weekend and we had a couple of power issues that we are trying to get worked out... We flew a ZagnutZ flying wing 8.5 miles... Here are the specs, then the problems...

Jeti 30/3
9x4 airscrew prop
CC25
4400 Mah Lipo

In flight, the motor shut off a couple of times. After backing the throttle down for a couple of seconds it came back and I was able to some altitude back......

After I recharged the pack to full, it was at 12.28 volts(my charger charges based on 3.6 volt IONs not 3.7 Volt Polys so 10.8 volts nominal for 3 cell packs). I fired it up and pulled 21.5 AMPS continous and the volts held pretty steady around 10.3-10.4 volts and It was turning 10,200 RPM.... On the ground it ran for 4 minutes and then cut off... Voltage was still good under a load.... Battery temp was just over ambient, the motor was pretty hot and the ESC was pretty hot.... Since the Amp draw was less than rated and the pack was maintaing voltage, I am trying to determine if the ESC shut down because of temp. or some other reason....

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

It sounds like the overcurrent sensitivity is a bit too sensitive. Set the current limiting for "insensitive" or "disabled", and that should clear you up.

Hey Shawn,

I had it set to "not sensative"... As it turns out I think I had the timing set wrong for the motor... it was in the high setting... after changing it to the low setting, It dropped 3 AMPs at WOT and it stayed MUCH cooler... so did the motor so I think I am in good shape....

Thanks,

Myron
