Years ago I had a Concept 30, and I got pretty good at hovering
and basic forward flight. Life got so busy that I rarely found the
time to fly it and I eventually sold it to a friend. These days I
have the time and I've been getting the itch again.
Conceptually, I like the idea of a smaller electric heli, something
like a Hummingbird or Hornet or what have you. There is a
30' x 150' patch of grass right outside my door, and a slightly
larger space across the parking lot. I'd love to be able to just
walk outside and play with it whenever I want. The only large,
open space nearby is a field with high power lines running
through it :-(
If I shelled out the $$ for one of the better micros, maybe even
one with CP, do you think I'd find it much harder or unpleasant
to fly vs the Concept 30? We get plenty of days with little or
no wind.
How well do these birds do in cold weather? If it is below
freezing I'll be in front of the fireplace, but if the temp is in the
upper 30's or 40's, I don't mind venturing outside for awhile.
Would the electronics be affected by flying near high power
lines? I'm not sure what they are carrying, but the towers are
fairly impressive. Would I be cool if I were 100-150 yards
away?
Thanks in advance for any info/advice.
