anyone flying in SW Missourri?

I seem to be here all by my lonesome in Springfield MO. Twenty years or so ago there was an active sailplane club that got seduced by the dark side ( four cycle engines were gettin big about then) and apparently are now defunct , having lost their flying site. Back in the area now and checking with the LHS , they say " no saiplane pilots" Can this be? Will I have to go to KC or St Louis to find like minds? Is Tulsa , OK active? I used to fly contests in Little Rock AR. Are any of you guys still around?
