I bought an Airtronics Legend kit from Dream Catcher Hobbies, managed to get it built and in the air in 2 weeks. I didn't change much just added some carbon tape to the spars and wraped the spar with carbon tow. Anyway I test flew it today, spent the morning getting it all trimmed out for crow launch presets and all the other goodies. Afternoon winds were 5 to 15 mph and the Legend handled it just fine had no problems penetrating and it launched pretty good on my two meter hi-start although it took a little finess to get it up nice and high. I am really impressed with this plane, it thermals great I specked it out twice and had a bunch of 10 minute flights, although its not as good as a Euro Moldie it sure is a great cheap alternative.

Right now I'm using a short hi-start consisting of 50 feet of hosemonster competition 2 meter rubber and 250 feet of line, I just ordered 100 feet of Hosemonster 3 meter rubber, it comes in two 50 foot lengths with connectors so I can use one section of 50 foot and 250 feet of line for my local short field and the full 100 feet with 400 feet of line at the big field in MN.

Congratulations on your Legend. I bought a legend from a club member. Still getting used to it. My First full-house sailplane.

What radio are you using to fly yours?

Congrats on your new Legend WGH. Looks like you've have youself a great sailplane.
I'm tinkering witha Sagitta 600 short kit from Dream Catcher and know very little (ok..nothing) about them with regard to service, quaulity of wood and instructions etc.
Any coments or reviews would be much appreciated.

What radio are you using to fly yours?

I use a Futaba 9chp, its a really nice radio, programs easy has a big LCD screen that is easy to see in the sun and best of all unlike my old Hitec Eclipses it does full trailing edge camber.

Any coments or reviews would be much appreciated.

I did have a few complaints, they supply 8 inch wide balsa sheeting for the top surface of the wing it's made up of 3 pieces of sheet glued together, these were cracked and it looked like the drum sander they used has some high spots on it, the surface was wavy. The original plans calls for caron fiber on the center section spars, the kit doesn't come with any Dream Catcher claims it isn't needed. The shear webs for the center section consist of little blocks 3/8" wide around 3" long and 1/16" to high, if you have a table saw it would be easier to cut all new ones, I made a little sanding jig to hold them square and then sanded each to fit took about two hours.

It wasn't all bad, the Folks at Dream Catcher use quality wood in their kits the laser cutting is excellent and their service is great, I would definately buy from them again.

It won't take you long to get used to it. My first full house was a Spirit Elite Kit built, it was a nice flying glider but it had a short life due to a small tree. My second is a Jk Thermic its not a full house ship but it was so fast I decided to add flaps to control my landings better, with just ailerons it was a nice glider with ailerons and flaps its a fantastic glider. And of course the Legend is my most recent addition, I find it easier to fly a full house ship than a RES. I don't know how many times I've been goind down wind with a RES and almost flew into a tree because the darn thing just wouldn't turn or the botched landings, the level of control you have with a full house is amazing.

Old Thread but you might be able to provide some help.

I still have the Airtronics Legend but it has never flown as well as I think it can. I am trying to reset the wing incidence but don't know what the recommended spec would be. I am not at 1.5 degrees.

If I set the stab at 0 degrees on my GP incidence meter, the wing measures 1.5 degrees below the zero. Any recommendations?

It used to be more but I added 1/32 in shims under the rear wing hold down to raise the back of the wing about 6 months ago and it seemed to fly better. So I bought the incidence meter and want to set it correctly.

But I have no idea if I am right on the money or way off.

Any advice would be appreciated.
