Hello Bill,
I am just south of you in Guthrie. I am working some small wave action off the trees at Liberty lake when the wind is out of the south. I am flying a Fling off of the kit's high start.

Check Slopeflyer.com website under OK Flying sites, there's some listed there with better directions. Bask when I lived in SW OK, I flew off a couple of dams, Lake Stanley Draper, just SE of OKC, and the Dam at Fort Cobb State Park. Some of the guys said that Thunderbird (Also SE of OKC) was a good spot also though I've never been there.
I found I had more fun saving up for trips to Lake Wilson in KS when the LASS folks have one of their awesome weekends up there like the MWSC.

Bill & Mike C.
Are you guys interested in electric sailplanes? Something along LMR type airframes?
Thats my main interest these days in TD. If so, I live in Moore and we could get together some time since we are close.

Bill and Hudley,
I am flying a Fling for the moment but I have a Gentle Lady ARF under assembly. I could not resist stepping up and trying a 2M. I do not have an electric sailplane but I do have my eye on an Acent ARF. I just have to figure a way to get it past the wife.
I flew at Liberty Lake last night with the Missisippi Kites and completed my first hi-start launch to flight to hand catch after threading between the power lines and cedar trees.

Bill,
2 meter in length wing span or 78 inches. Bird of Time is a 3 meter sailplane. By the way if you work up to the larger planes you will need a Suburban.
Pullin yer leg.

Bill,
2m is two meter wing span, 3m is 3 meter wing span. F1...I am not sure. LMR is limited motor run. No need to buy a book, just ask questions. Its neat to have new people in the sport/ hobby that are not yet jaded.
Do you or Mike have a good field to fly from? Lets get something together in the next couple of weeks and meet in your area. I think I could get a few more people to come and fly. If you want to make the trip down to Moore....that would work also.

There are some good looking parks to the west of Moore just off of the H.E.Bailey turnpike. The terrain gets hilly on the east side of OKC which would work for sloping. I am pretty much game to travel about an hour to a site so that puts us all with in reach. The few sites I use are the Guthrie parks. Soccer and baseball are done and the areas I use are open. I usually hit them early morning or late evening, late afternoon. I have to work my time around work and Boy Scouts. Lets see if can hook up on email and iron out meeting details and keep this forum on soaring. Speaking of which.......I have all my control surfaces installed on by ARF Gentle Lady and I am about to install all of the electronics. After constructing GWS models with small pico receivers and servos......it doesn't seem right to put normal sized servos and that big dual receiver in the GL. I just tell myself that I need the balast in these Oklahoma winds.

keep in mind i was gonna try slope, although ive been told the big red one would thermal, not shure on that(it needs a diet when it gets back),and the other ...well if it cought a thermal a 747 could fly in it couse it has to have a decent wing loading, no pick of my flik yet. .....spad concept is fun but it doesnt help if you cant gte to a flying site..grrr and pawhuska, http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=M7tNO.p_0TqT&csz=Pawhuska%2C+OK&country=us&new=1&name=&qty= heres a map, anyway im gonna try and think of a new plane to biuld ttyl

it wont be somthing technical just somthing slow to have fun with, also i hope it has a good glide couse i want to only do lmr's (keep the niose down) also ive heard its possibly to throttle these???? im prolly gonna go a/e/f or a/e/t if i can find out how to throttle it. im bored and its the weekend debating weather to make it look like the preditor drone or a normal gliders fuse wont affact performance, heck might even just use tlar for everthing. one last thing the airfoil im thinkin of i cant use a spar as its too thin, im worried if i use a thiker one it wont penetrat for junk once the moter cuts off. will tape be enough?????
