Here's a new Slow Hawk photo I shot for a recent ad. If you'd like to get one of these excellent birds, check out www.ornithopter.org/store/slowhawk.info.html (http://www.ornithopter.org/store/slowhawk.info.html). (Recent design improvements are not reflected in the photo since this is my own bird, one of the first ones made.) We have a whole bunch of Slow Hawks in stock right now and they can be shipped immediately.

If any of you are on the edge, trying to figure out which ornithopter to buy, this one gets my vote. It doesn't like the wind very much, and if you respect that, you will do very well with one of these.

(FYI: I'm not here to sell ornithopters, and I don't get a commission, kickback, or any sort of compensation for my endorsement.)

I love my ParkHawk, but ... if I had to pick just one bird to own, it would be this one. Go for it! This is one sweet bird. :D :D :D

Hi Willi. The Park Hawk is not being discontinued. The Park Hawk and Slow Hawk are both in a perpetual state of change. Among recent changes, both feature a shortened wingspan.

A few years ago I made a special 41 inch span wing for my Park Hawk in part to test a new wing design concept. I found it flew much better with the reduced span and other changes. I told Sean how much fun I was having with this faster, more agile version of the Park Hawk. Finally he tried this out and must have liked the results.

Sean's new wing is the same design as the old, except that it's been trimmed to 42 inch span for the Park Hawk, and the Slow Hawk now has a 54 inch span and slightly broader wing.

Why the Slowhawk? Is it performance or construction that makes you think it's the best choice?

Wingspans on my models aren't so complicated actually....

Original SkyBird ~ 96"
Later SkyBird ~ 84"
Slow Hawk ~ 54"
Park Hawk ~ 41"
SunBird/Shrike XL's ~41"
SunBird/Shrike ~ 36"
YardBird/YardHawk ~ 26"
