Fuse for my 2m Lil' Bird is nearing completion on my first "woodie" kit. Not real comfortable with covering the fuse, stab, fin, etc with a covering material. Will cover the wing with ultracote. Considering spray painting with a dark Krylon type paint.
What do you guys recommend to use?????
Thanks,
Dave

I use waterbased polyurethane tinted with food coloring. The Poly saturates the wood and creates an interesting composite. A little steelwool on the final coat and it is smooth as glass and totally waterproof.
Try some on a sample. I use Verathane Diamond finish in the blue can. soak it on with a paper towel, Let it sit and then blot off with a clean towel. If you are trying a sample, do both sides to prevent warping. Not recommended on 1/32" sheeting at any time.
Enjoy!
