Steve & Chris Clark

Well.....I gotta say this RC nitro monster truck is a great new hobby. It
has been a long time since I have found something that is this addictive. I
woke up around seven this AM, made a pot of coffee and took a couple of laps
around the track and made some mental improvements to the track design.
Went and had some breakfast and another cup of java. Scalped some more grass
down to the dirt and made the track at its narrowest six feet wide and
fattened out some of the curves in thunder ally and made the hairpins have
more passing opportunities. I pulled a home-made rake around with the
tractor to define the outer and inner edges of the tack lane, then rolled a
four foot lane down with a 48" roller leaving the edges with loose dirt and
grass sticking up, my version of that 4" black PVC corrugated pipe ya'll use
for boundary edging.
I put six tanks through the truck today. Second gear is working very well
and is just awesome when it kicks in, the shift is impressive, to me anyway
;-). My skill as a driver has come along very well, I feel. I was up on two
wheels a couple of times but not over yet! Maybe next weekend! Almost hit
a shrub at full bore too. She is all cleaned up and oiled ready for next
weekend!
We usually go up to the lake every weekend but I think I will stay home on
Saturdays to race around the backyard and go up for Sunday and Monday. It
almost killed me to not race until today. Next weekend I am going to lean
down the carb and advance the gear change some. Yee Haw! Thanks for
reading my drivel but as the group has helped me out with my questions I
thought I would update you on the progress.
That's it for now, Steve, have a good week guys and keep your throttles
buried!
