Hi everyone,
Haven't posted in a long time.Got a few question for some of yall.
Ordered me a Duratrax Axis....anyone have one?If so....are they
fair 1/8 scale buggy. Was looking for something to race at the local
track.
Was out there a few days ago, there was a few older Ofna's,a older Kyosho
Nitro Burns, and what looked like a Thurder Tiger Mirage.
Also have read that the pull starter is sorta friagle. So if it
should break, can you use a electric starter.Cause have one my brother
gave, when thought about getting a boat.
Also if anyone has one, please pass along any set-ups that you are
using.

Thanks,
Michael

P.S. It's surppost be here tomorrow.Does anyone know if Fed-Ex delivers
on Saturday??

Hi Bobby,
Thanks for the info.So your saying it a fairly desent 1/8
buggy,thats tough as nails.
The Axis is going to my frist 1/8.Have a few 1/10's.So far have a
old RC-10T,RC-10B2,Tamyia Super Blackfoot. And my current pride and
joy......a mint Traxxas SRT.Sill run it something,but not offten,as
people has offered me,some major $$$ for it.
Just them,"Not interested",one guy offered me,like twice what I paid.I
paid,$195 for it new,...so that would be $390,just for the truck....no
electronics .Nahhhh!!!!Not for sale.
Anyway........thanks again.Anyone else have any info on
it......

One thing you may find is it needs stiffer springs. Duratrax makes some
for it. If its brand new before you try to start it for Break-in, heat
the engine up with a hair dryer this will make it easier to pull the
pull-starter. Yes you can use a starter box. Oh may want to go ahead
and check the oil content of the shocks or just change it righ off.
Ive had 2 torq21's and have always used OS A3 plugs they work great in
it and last my current plug has 1 1/2 gallons still looks good. For your
break-in though you may go through a couple.
Options to think about. There are other things like a Racing Clutch
$10 for better low-end take-off. A torsen center diff $70 for better use
of power bacically it sends power to the wheels that have traction.

Hi Quake and Bobby,
Got my Axis the other day, spent 3hrs breaking it in...today.Can say
one thing, that Torq .21 is great little engine. It's got more that enough
power of the Axis.Guessing top speed is around 45-50mph.
I think it's going to very well a the local track.Yea....sure it's
no Kyosho MP-7 or Ofna Ultra GT LX Pro,but for $280.00 it can't be
beat. And ain't going to win any national events.
All in all think Duratrax has winner.....wolf in sheep's clothing.I give
it two thumbs up.......Way to go Duratrax.
