What are we supposed to post in the "Airplanes - Electric" for sale thread,
and what should go in the "Radios and Electronics" thread?

I post some brushless ESCs in the "AE" thread and it got move to the "RE"
thread, but it looks like everyone else that posted ESCs in the "RE" thread
got moved to the "AE" thread. Where do ESCs go?

Thanks,

MX

I vote to boycott the Radios and electronics forum to keep everything in one place ;)

I vote to boycott the Radios and electronics forum to keep everything in one place Hmm - not a bad idea. That would sure make my life easier (I'm the R&E mod.) :D

You all have a right to be a bit confused, since it wasn't clearly stated what the R&E forum is for.
After much discussion among the mods I think we're all on the same page now.

E FS/W forum is for electric specific items (such as ESC's).

The new R&E FS/W forum is for radio systems and their components (transmitters, receivers, servos, etc.) These items should not be electric specific.

I hope that helps clarify things a bit. ;)

If you want to sell a kit and and servos together, where does it go?

I'm not liking having to search 2 forums now.

I would have no problem with it being in R & E. ;)

I thought it made a lot of sense to open a new forum for ESC's, radios, batteries, servos, etc. because they were something that could be used for either electric airplanes or helis, thus consolidating a lot of stuff for people who stalk both forums. After all, a phoenix 25 could be used by a heli or an airplane so I don't see why the current setup has us posting once in each instead of just in one common electronics forum?

I guess if you want radios/electronics to mean just the stuff that EVERYONE needs, gas included, then it's set up the way it should be...but who flies gas anyway, right? ::hides from all the people that do::

...and if the forum is really just for radio equipment and servos, call it "rx, tx, servos" or something and save the confusion :D

I didn't even know about R&E.

Why just separate it into Air and Land/Sea? Granted, there's a small overlap with servos and stuff, but it really is small.

Sorry Ric but thanks for the clarification.

Sorry Ric but thanks for the clarification.Nothing to be sorry about, Bill - it was a legit question. ;)

I believe that including the word "electronics" in the description almost guarantees that some users will put ESC's in the R&E forum. Mark & I would have - and did. :p

I think we need to be clear that it's a forum for radio systems and their components - none of us have yet come up with a truly brilliant title.
I do think the idea of this forum is a good one - and it wasn't even my idea! :)

Yeah. I got tired of looking in other than aircraft fuel for radios, etc. So I think one forum is good for radio and related items. I didn't know there was anything but fuel aircraft! :) And when I found the aircraft -electric forum I noticed they never fly, they're all just selling and buying stuff all the time.

That's because even a used e-powered airframe is still a sellable item, whereas its glo-powered equivalent is akin to an oil-soaked rag.............
