newbee looking for boat

Hey guys I am a newbee getting into boats, or trying to. i have been a R/C heli pilot for about 2 years. I am looking for some thing like a scarab or catamaran. Some thing GAS powered. About 55" or a little bigger. I have alot of stuff to trade for one. What kind of boat should I be looking for. Speed is good for me, i leave at the beach with many open shallow inlets. They are like 3 feet deep and a few miles long. If you have a good boat or can give me some input on what to look for I would appreciate it.
