Help Identify

Can anyone tell me what this plane is called? It was built back in the middle 50’s and hung in a barn from 1959 until 2001. It has a 88" wing, and the tail surfaces were held on with rubber bands.

I prefer duct tape.

All the covering has been removed, the wing and tail surfaces fixed and/or modified. The fuselage is the problem. I wish I had a better picture. Someone attempted to repair the nose after a crash. If I had some idea what the plane was called maybe I could find a picture to help in rebuilding the nose. If I can't I plan on designing my own nose based on other pictures of planes of that era.
