After a series of tests (made much easier by using the Phx-Link!) I believe I've confirmed that updating the software on my Phoenix 35 has clobbered governor mode. I'm running a Mega 16/15/3 on an Eolo heli using an 8-cell GP3300 battery with the following settings:

Cutoff: 5v
Cutoff type: soft
Brake: Disabled
Throttle: Fixed or High Governor
Soft start: Softest
Timing: Standard
Cur. Lim: Insensitive
PWM: 11khz

I believe this is an older P35. It has a 3x6 matrix on the bottom, with only 4 of the 6 rows populated.

Before updating the software, and my first use of the Phx-Link, governor mode (high) was working fine with my Mega. Now, I can't acheive sufficient rpm to lift-off. Reset the Throttle to "Fixed," and everything is fine.

In the process of playing with this, I had to set my throttle end point adjustment on my RD8000 to 75% to get full throttle at full stick throw on the transmitter. Works fine in fixed throttle. In governor mode, I tried the end point adjustment at 75% and 100% and the result was the same - insufficient rpm.

Have I missed something, or is this a bug of some kind.

I made the mistake of updating to the 1.03b software on my P-45 - high governor mode definitely doesn't work with my Mega 22/20/3H, it won't start at all. The bug was confirmed by Shawn... Everything was working fine with the 1.02 software in my case, but it won't let you revert back either. So I'm running in fixed throttle waiting on the next software version.

Next time I'll stay away from the beta stuff, I ough to know better being in IT :)

Bret,

How did you know it was a "beta" release? I just Phx-Link and it told me I needed to do the update. I didn't notice any indication that it was a beta???

Any idea when this will be fixed?

If you just used the software that came with the phx-link you don't have the beta software, it's a seperate download on their website clearly marked as a beta.
