1. Can I use diluted white PVA glue as a parting agent?

2. Can I use car wax instead of parting wax?

Thanks

Shane

1) Maybe, but white glue (polyvinyl acetate) is not the same as the PVA we use (polyvinyl alcohol). It might just glue your part to your mold.

2) Yes, maybe. You'd have to experiment. The carnauba types are best, but most car waxes contain silicone, which can cause problems if you ever want to paint the part. Of course, mold release wax is pretty cheap from the online vendors.

Thanks David. I will make an effort to get the right stuff but I just wanted to find out if the PVA that is referred to in this forum is the same as the white glue we use.
