Does anyone have a shematic and possibly parts list for an led controller that only draws power from the reciever to switch on the leds (run from the battery or a seperate one)? With 4 servos and 3s lipo I'm at the limit for my CC25 esc and wan't guite a few leds in a new EPP plane?

You can configure the RC-CAM NavLights project to do that. Just take the common LED power line (shown connected to optional S1) and wire it to the raw battery source (instead of 4.8VDC).

The LED current limit resistors will need to be increased in value due to the higher source voltage. There is an LED resistor calculator on the site that helps determine the required value.

Project is published at http://www.rc-cam.com/navlight.htm

Here you have one very simple one - and does not need any PIC-programming. Can be used to control LEDs, but also for many other purposes. I've done landing lights using this and LEDs.

I just made this switch too (with mucho help from MR. RC-CAM). Here's my story: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251671&page=1&pp=15 Cost about $12 and 6 hours of "tinkering" as my wife would say.

Page 2 has pictures (but didn't work at that time), page 4 is when I fixed the problem.
