Does anyone have the formula for determining the surface area of an elliptical or semi-elliptical wing (i.e. Spitfire, Thunderbolt)?

Does anyone have the formula for determining the surface are of an elliptical or semi-elliptical wing (i.e. Spitfire, Thunderbolt)?

If the wing is elliptical, if the root chord is A and the span is B, then the area is:
3.1416 x A x B x 1/4.
