I have 3 prototype Apex 3D kits available before we go into full production for Airwild hobbies. Each kit will go for $35.00+ 7.00 shipping. We have sold several kits locally in So. Cal. so you may have seen a few flying at a local field or at the local SCAT tournaments. Email me at neilochapultepec@cox.net if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Neil

2 sold one more left. Any takers? This is the most stable foamy in a hover. I fly mine in the living room and in the garage almost every day. I even use it to trim the trees. Check out the videos on the website. Email me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Neil

Sorry Ben, this was my first try at a webpage with videos. Others have emailed me saying the same thing, while others had some success. It has a lot of information, so it may take some time to load. I'll work on it some more. Thanks for the input.

As an owner of this great plane, all I can say is WOW. I have see what this plane can do. Neal and his brother do some great hovering with this bird. I have a bad motor and had to order a new one, so I'm missing out on flying this bird. 2 thumbs up!!

How does this plane compare to Shock Flier? Just curious.

Snake, thanks for the kind words. I can't wait to try yours out with the new motor.
Jeff, I have sold to many who have owned the shockflyer and they all seem to prefer the Apex over the shockflyer. It can do anything the shockflyer can do but its main advantage is it can handle the wind, and the outdoors better. I have flown mine at the slopes and it doesn't get kicked around by the wind. The wind will push it around but you dont loose the controls.
It's also a bigger and more durable plane. I've bounced mine off the walls, hit my van, got it stuck in trees, crashed in my neighbors yard and full throttled it into the ground and it still flies well. I did have destroyed several gearboxes.
Also, it is a torque rolling machine and will almost torque roll on its own. I along with many others have learned to torque roll with this plane and many have enough confidence to hover and torque roll inside their homes. The elevator and rudder is very responsive so if you make a mistake during a manuver just counter the controls and it responds instantly. The effectivness of the controls is due to the size of the control surfaces and because the batteries, receiver, and servos are near or at the CG. I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if you have others.
Thanks,
Neil

I got my new motor today and I'm putting to together. I'm not sure when I will get to take it back up; I'm so busy prepping for the combat event this weekend at the Palomar RC Flyers field on Sunday. You and your brother should come and check it out. It may make aerobatics events look boring!

I just found another prototype kit so there is one more available. I forgot to mention the difference between the regular kit and the prototype is that the prototype kits have the carbon rods glued to the wing, stab and fuse. The motor block is also installed. Check out the website to see this plane fly, hover and trim leaves.

Right now Neil is making them as fast as he can (a one man operation). I offered to help him to keep up with the demand. I can’t wait to get mine back in the air with my new motor. My problem is I can’t fly well so low to the ground as Neil and his brother. I got to get the time on this bird. I love seeing his low flying inside the garage.

Snake,
I'm no longer a one man operation, my brother is also building the kits and selling them at the local SCAT tournaments. By the way, I only have 5 kits left of the first production batch. Any takers?

I saw Neil fly this plane today. He is a great flyer and his plane looks like a kick in the pants to fly. I watch him fly and then I talked to him about his plane. This plane flew great - plenty of power, capable of very slow flight, very manuverable, and able to hang on the prop then go straight up. I was very impressed.

Thanks for the kind words. Wow, ezoners are everywhere, you never know when you'll run into one. I'm glad you liked the plane and how it performs. It took a long time and several prototypes to get it to fly the way it does and now I have it just right. I have sold over 70 planes so far and never had a negative feedback from anyone. I have had several positive feedback, many from competative scat and imac pilots who have praised the plane. I will post their testimonials on my webpage.
I have several painted and nonpainted kits available and in stock at the following locations:
airwildhobbies.com
dreamhobbies.com
members.cox.net/apex.models
The painted kits are very similar to the Edwins apex picture on the members.cox.net/apex.models webpage.
Thanks

Couldn't keep it in a hover in the strong wind.

Hey Snake,
Thanks for the cool pictures. I'm supprised it flew as well as it did, with the wind blowing so hard and all. I did manage to get some torque rolls in there but the wind really pushed the plane out when I got it in position. It still looked pretty cool. Maybe tomorrow the wind will be calmer and we can get some pictures of some close in torque rolls.
Thanks,
Neil
