Syntesized Radio vs Old School

Are the Synthesized Radios really worth the extra bucks for convenience as
opposed to the Old School AM - FM models where you have to choose a Channel?
Looking at Servo City, I can pick up a pretty nice Old School radio for next
to nothing price wise, but not sure if I should wait and get a Synthesized
one.

They save you the cost of crystals, $15-20 pre channel. Also keeps you from
waiting, if all you channels that you have, are taken already.

I have been in situations many times either bashing or racing when there
was a channel conflict. You either can not bash with your friends or race
with your friends when that happens............just plain sux! Now I use the
JR Xs3 and will never go back.
Without exaggerating, I have changed my channel at races at least 10 times
since I have had the radio. Love it!
