Hi, I am looking for an online source to buy Ceramic or Ferrite Ring Chokes like these ones used in these Kontroniks ESC's. They use them in the lead to the receiver plug from the ESC. I am looking to use them in my EDF Jets where components are close together and I am looking to help eliminate glitching http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGCW2&P=ML

Any help or ideas I can get would be great.
Thanks Much

Joe,
You could try your local computor shop first , they use similar beads on internal sound card leads .
Other than that try digikey , they should also stock them .

Look for ferrite that is made with "Type 43" material. It is well suited for this app.

Your Multiplex RC dealer can get them!

Thanks Guys, I noticed that they have certain values of the chokes. Is there a certain rating I should get for the plane?
I will try Multiplex Rory as soon as I find someone that sells Multiplex stuff.
Thanks Joe

I am looking the type of ferrite you can use for rc airplane motors that are getting interference. I would need to wrap the cable from the speed control to the receiver around the ring.

i went looking on digikey, is there any particular one i would need to search for. it seems there are many options

Do you have any surplus electronics stores in your area left? I remember many years ago going to some stores that catered to ham radio people. But I don't know if they have any there in your area left.
we are lucky in that we have Tanner's electronics out here to go to for things like that:

You can call them and they take orders over the phone. They have a parts rack with numerous boxes of assorted ferrite cores and stuff there.

They have some ferrite cores here:

Unless your'e building a production run of aircraft or have several you wish to modify, you may not need to buy the rings :)

Do you have old modem cards for the PC or any motherboards ?
The tiny rings can often be found just before the socket jacks on PC dial-up modems. I've salvaged several from 56K modems, for Joule Thief circuits. Normally they are sandwiched between two pieces of square plastic, but if you look at the middle, there will sit the ferrite ring.
For slightly larger sizes, old motherboards usually contain 2 or 3 ferrite's. You can spot them easily enough on a quick glance.

This place has a large stock of toroids:

It is worth the time just to look at what they have!
