I am finding difficulty in getting information about sail servos.
How powerful must they be
What movement should they have ( standard ones don't seen to move much)
Are rotary servos best
Is there a site which can relate information in layman's terms?

refer to

scroll down to

Boats, Yachts, Submarines, Warship Combat and Nautical reviews

sub section = "Reviews, Plans, FAQ & Tips, Jet drive".
and check links & downloads amongst which are =
"Servo 180 and 360 degree mods + Fit servos to yachts & boats. " ***
"How to Sail fast_ Rig tuning by Bob Sterne "
"RC Sailboat FAQ "
see also much further down many other good tips under
"Radio Systems, Accessories, Alterations and FAQ"
sub section =
"Servo & TX alterations, calculators, clonepacs, make an ESC or winch, FAQ."

if all else fails, email me direct for specific info.

From the Allan's Hobby reply, it would appear that sail servos can cost more
than a boat!!!!

What do they use in Kit yachts - they seem adequate
In layman's terms please
