Has anyone seen or heard of a mod to add Dual rates to a Futaba Conquest fp-t4nbf ?
Or even a wayto turm them down internally?
How about adjusting endpoints internally?
Thanks in advance

Also, does anyone have a source for schematics for Futaba? In particular the FP-T4NBF?

It's a messy hack to add dual rates. Here is the basic method shown with a microcontroller based encoder. Your Tx's NE5044 encoder does not impact the design.

Hi Mr. RC-CAM,
I am a friend of ragemaster and will attempt to perform this operation :)
Should the new pots be the same value as the stick pot?
Also, am I right in assuming that the extra pots act as endpoints and the switch puts them in or out of the circuit?
I guess one of the hard parts is finding a home for all the extra pots :)
Thanks much for your time and the info,
Kalman

Should the new pots be the same value as the stick pot?The value determines how aggressive the dual rates will be. If it was me, I would try it with values that are about 1/2 the main pot's value. Prototype it this way and see if you like the adj range.
Also, am I right in assuming that the extra pots act as endpoints and the switch puts them in or out of the circuit?
Yes, that is all there is to it.

Yes, it will be a challenge to create something that has easy access to the trim pots.

:) Thanks for posting that Mr. RC-CAM.
Looking forward to your answer on the pots.
We really appreciate this!!!!

Thanks!!
Looks like we posted at the same time!

See the December 1979 issue of Model Aviation, page 20, for an article on adding analog dual rates and roll button to a Tx. I don't have a scaner, so can't post the schematic. I think the back issues of MA are archived on the AMA site now.

These may be usefull they are for a NE5004 encoder system

Thanks for all the replies.
I finally got around to trying this.
I tried to do this using the schematics above, but it doesn't effect anything. Servo still travels the same amount. Everynow and then I get some glitching on other channels. I tried with just the 4.7k pots and then added the 1.5 resistors. What am I missing here?
Essentially what you guys were saying is to add a switchable/variable resistance in parallel to the stick pot. Right? Or am I way off?
Am I suposed to disconnect the 3 wires going to the stick pot and somehow put the resitance in series?
I am still hoping to make this work, so any suggestions?
Thanks again for getting me started.

Yes. Just follow the schematics.
