Man!! Something that big, but Why??? Cant see the practicality except bragging rights. Would I like something like that ? Of course. but where would I safely fly something that big ? hate to get wacked from the blades that would go on them. Can you legally fly something that big at an AMA sanctioned flying field ? or is this just a private property project ? (I know this is in Austria) This would be a great remotely piloted Vehicle project. Mount this thing with several cameras. Aerial photography made easy. Hate to see a mishap with something this big. Great project. If i was rich too, Id have one also :)

I want to be able to carry my elec minis to the field in the cargo bin on this bird, that's why. :) Personally, I'd hate to get whacked from the blades of anything, but yes, a single 4'6" blade does pack quite a punch. Yes, it's 100% AMA legal. And this isn't in Austria...It's about 250 miles southeast of you. :) As for mounting cameras on it....that won't be possible with the current configuration. The all up flying weight will be apprx 45lbs, and the 60cc engine will likely be at the operating threshold to handle this. No cameras will be able to ride onboard. Besides, a camera ship needs to be pod and boom, not a fancy scaler.

Oh, one last bit...the cost is less than a fully-equipped and flying turbine pod and boom. The cost that can't be easily quantified is my labor to detail it. In that regard, one needs to be "rich in time" to afford it, and if riches were measured in time, I'd be living in a cardboard box.
