No way Jose! I staterd out with non crystal controlled valve transmitters. Do a range test and the ruddy Txwnet half a meg of tune. I even tried building a valve receiver. Useless.

Then germainum transistors and no relays!! but they drifted in the heat...

what with starting finicky diesels, and re-tuning the radio befor every flight and batteries costing the equivalen of a small LIPO pack, and not being rechargeable, it was a nightmare.

If ou even got the model in the air on given day it was miracle. If it actually landed anywhere near yu it was equivalent to putting a man on the moon.


Today, I grab a transmiter, LIPO pack and model, rush out and just FLY it.
