OK...i keep seeing PVA, as in PVA the mold, but the only PVA i know is poly vinyl alcohol, which is a glue... and i'll bet there's other confusing terms for the newbies like me... so maybe someone more experianced can put one up.
Another piece of info i'd like are which resin/hardner combo's people are using. For instance, there's a West Marine down the street, so i could get West Systems, but which ones would i get?

Actually, the PVA people use as glue should just as well be called PVAc, since it's polyvinyl acetate. The PVA which we use in molds is polyvinyl alcohol. They are similar, but different.
West Systems epoxy works fine for most modeling applications. Most common would be the 105/205 or 105/206 systems. Part number 105 is the epoxy resin, which can be used with several different hardeners (such as 205 and 206). The main difference in hardeners will be the pot life (and other physical properties to differing degrees).
have fun,

That's just the kind of info i was looking for. Thanks. I just scored a nearly whole sheet of white foam, and another 1/2 sheet the other day, and i salvaged 2 sheets (not necessarily full sized) of blue foam a while back. I'm getting a lot closer to attempting something.
