i bought this kit at the local hobby shop. when i was a kid my father had once purchased one from phil thomas and this boat really cruised . i have since always wanted one. now i have one and am a novice in this sport. i have an ops 40 i have put in this hull. curious if this is going to be enough?

I've never seen one. got any pix that you can post? Are you going to just mess around with it or race it? If it's the latter, the motor won't be enough.
Phil is still around putting out boats. I spent most of the week last year at the IMPBA Internats set up by him. Great guy!

An exhaust throttle motor? These always seemed to be a West Coast thing with a few East of the Mississippi running them. It can be a really old motor or a conversion kit made by Prather or someone else.
As far as running gear goes or any other parts that I need, I call Gary Preusse at 630-279-2451. He's on his way back home right now from the IMPBA Internats but he can get parts that no one else has.
