Hello Everyone, I just got a SIG Kadet LT-40 ARF. It's covered with white Oracover. Does anyone know if it would be O.K. to paint the Oracover with Top Flite's Lustrecoat spray paint. The Lustre coat can says that it can be used on iron on coverings and mentions Monocoat specifically.
Any info relating to painting coverings and applying decals to the painted surface would be helpful.

Thanks,

You're good to go.
Treat Oracover just like you would Coverite or any other fabric for painting.

Oracover is a shiny plastic, so it's best to give the paint something to stick too. You can rough up the surface with ver fine steel wool, 600 grit sandpaper, or one of those green 3M scotch brightscrubby thingees. After you rough up the surface to be painted, be sure to thoroughly clean the surface using rubbing alcohol or some paint thinner lightly applied to a paper towel. Make sure you don't touch the surface to be painted, as your skin oil may cause a patch where the paint will not stick. My Twin Otter is covered with Oracover, and the red and black trim is Krylon paint, but I don't have to worry about fuel proofing because it's electric powered.
