After downloading FMS in WindowsXP, all went well until I attempted to calibrate. A tip says tell Windows not to operate as Windows 9. This means nothing to me but I am new to all this. Can anyone advise?

That tip means nothing to me either. Better start from the basics. Can you explain what type of controller/interface cord etc you are trying to use and what goes wrong when you try to calibrate ?

I am using a Futaba 6A with com1serial connector. Acft appears on screen and takes off but there is no control. Does not recognize transmitter. Cannot calibrate.

There was a post a while back that said to run FMS in Win 9x emulation mode. Not sure about anything more. AFAIK, it'll run in native XP mode. Realflight does.

Deane, please give a bit more detail about the interface you're using. There are a lot of "old-style" serial interfaces out there that do not work directly with XP. Is it a PIC serial i/f ? Which option under Controls are you using to calibrate it ?

If you have one of the older serial i/fs it might be worth trying PPJoy http://www.geocities.com/deonvdw/Docs/PPJoyMain.htm to get it working with XP.

FMS runs fine in XP it's just some of the old interfaces that have problems.

See making cable for FMS in this forum.
The cable (parts < 10 Euros) is connected to COM port works for all Windows (also 2K and XP) and
is a measuring tool for xmtrs (see all settings moving in real time), and a flight recorder. All softs are freeware.

Hello

I have a Hitec Laser 4 and the Serial Interface cable that works with PiccoFly Sim, I couldn't calibrate it. The channels signals are rising and falling at their own course, the control throw from TX makes no sense to them.
Please help advise me as well. thanks.
