Ive been getting several Emails refering to if I make any fuselages that will fit the Crazy crutch. The answer is that they do fit the Crazy crutch but not without a simple mod. i had to make some new landing gear mounts and bend some 7/32 wire and get some wheel collars and solid 1/4 inch dia aluminum rods for skids. I looks as if the entire battery pack when mounted underneath will be concealed inside the body :). I made some mounts for testing purposes. I thought i got 5 ply plywood but its 3 ply(not as strong) :( . im hoping that Matt will see this and make the mounts out of CF. The landing gear is tuff. There is room on the inside of the fuselages for all you electronics, Even looks like there is plenty of room for the gyro on the gyro mount. Matt, you think you can take this one on ?

It looks good, Darth.

I have no problem making the adaptor plates like you show in CNC cut carbon. The only thing stopping me from making these (along with being swamped with other product development, including project X) is the fact that I don't have a wire bending fixture for making the wire gear. I would need to hand make each set. Or, I could sell all of the hardware and a template for the correct wire shape. The buyer would, then, have to bend the wire themselves.

I think that would be a good start( Carbon plates and a template for bending the wire). I used a 7/32 wire and bent the wire with a pair of vise grips. For the landing gear heres what it roughly cost me:
7/32 music wire .95 cents LHS
1/4 solid aluminum rod 2.00 Home depot
7/32 Wheel collars 1.39 LHS
Used a hack saw to cut the aluminum rods
used vise grips to bend the wire
used wire cutters to cut music wire.
used a sander to remove burrs from metal.

Ok guys, Ive been doing some more on the landing gear mod for Matt's crazy crutch. Ive had a few people inquire about bodies that will fit the crazy crutch. I finally got ahold of some 1/8 five ply plywood and I made some new mounts, Landing gear and skids. Here are some pics. The fuselages fit excellent. An 8 cell battery pack will fit completely inside the fuselages. Looks Good to me.

Canopies fit also. Basically i see this making Matt's crazy crutch a little more versatile. You can fly the crutch with the exotic look as it was created or go scale with the Landing gear mod.

I don't mind making the mounting plates in carbon. The only issue would be the wire gear. I can make the carbon plates and included a template for the customer to bend their own wire gear.

That would be great Matt. I think most people can handle wire bending. If you need anything from me to accomplish this i can send it to you. i can send you a layout of the landing gear template.

OK Darth, I will go ahead with the plates for this. I am guessing it will be a couple weeks to get the programming and tooling setup for it.

Heres a pic of a UH-1 Huey I just completed the other day that is designed to fit the Crazy crutch. The only change I made was to add a driveshaft cover on the tailboom cover. It probably would have worked without the added cover but it looked to me that it needed a little more main rotor clearance and adding the cover allowed the fuselage to sit about a 1/2 inch lower on the chassis.
