Hi, does anyone know if electric powered OT's allowed to compete against i.c powered ?
I suppose the regs are different in various countries but is it being done or is there comps specifically for electrics?
Cheers Joe

I don't think they compete side-by-side with engine powered but they do have special classes for electric oldtimer conversions. I think one is called spirit of SAM and another Texaco (elexaco?).
Of course it depends on which sanctioning body the competition is being held under, such as SAM or just a AMA event. SAM rules can be found here: http://www.antiquemodeler.org/
Guess I ought to read up on it :).

I don't intend to enter comps as yet but it would be wise to build comp compliant models just is case :)
I better start reading as well.

We fly electric against IC in New Zealand Joe. only limitation is on pack size and the electrics get only 20 seconds to climb for duration compared to 25 seconds for the IC. Practical limit is about 40 amps on Lipos so around 700 sq inches is about the right size.
