Lesro Models were produced in the Christchurch, Bournemouth area (UK). But
now their website www.lesromodels.com is permanently down. Anyone know if
they have closed down? Or are they just having web problems? I've emailed
their local Westbourne Models for info but had no reply.

Given they ae in the UK, you should have tried
<http://www.lesromodels.co.uk>, but would have found that gone too.

You could try and make telephonic contact (I'm in Oz, so I'm not going
to do that!)

Just a small point but this may have never been a usable site. Problem is
that it does not matter what country you are based in, as to what extension
is given to your website address. Thus is due to how much you pay, and how
or who you register with.

If you are only a small business and or funding is tight, and you do not
envisage exporting goods, paying for just a 'co.uk' extension will in some
respects limit your hits to only those searching the UK, or possibly Europe
address. Using the dearer '.com' extension will allow more search engines to
find your site, and so possibly more customers, but this site will have to
be registered in many countries, or you may find that some other company in
another country has already been using this site address, and demand
compensation, hence the more cost.

This I found when setting up a site for a colleague, nothing to do with
modelling.

Here ten out of ten, no one seams to call anymore, just text or email.

Cheers Vaughn

Agreed, but I go ogled for Lesro first, and found the .co.uk address.

And I have a tendency to go through the various domains when I'm
looking, usually because I've gotten it totally wrong and should have
hit a search engine first. (By "various domains" I mean .com, .net,
..biz, .com.tw (shows that I do a lot of computer stuff), and so on,
usually leading me to hit a search engine and go, "Oh, it's "abc.xyz,
not def.xyz, silly me!"

Cheers,

point taken, and hopefully my apology will suffice.

quite agree, far too many dam extensions, but I guess who are we to wonder,
but just to ponder?

All the best
