Hi.
I have the Real Race controller from a guy who thought it would be a nice
toy for his kid, and found out there was not chance for it... Anyway, I am
trying to imporove my skills and thought it would be useful. However, I
can't get the software itself. It is not downloadable in the Duratraxx site,
so does anyone know how can I get it (the software only, I already have to
controller). Alternatively, are there any other simulators availables?
Thanks,
Avi.

RealRace software is the part that costs money and is actually worth
something. The controller is junk, I'm actually using Serpent Virtual RC
adapter & my Futaba Radio with RealRace most of the time (to be honest,
haven't used it much in a year).

Other simulators - I don't know if there's anything worth calling a sim.
Every couple of months there is news that "we have the greatest RC sim
ever (only it's just not ready yet)", but so far no actual products,
AFAIK. There have been some games (some people like Re-Volt for
example), but no sims. RealRace sim the best I've seen and IMHO worth
it's price. Buy it.

I tihnk I would stick to practicing on the track, and spending the money on
replacing broken parts...
It's not much of an expense, but reading some informaiton on the net, it
seems like these simulators are not quite realistic. I figured out if I
could download it it would be fun, but nothing more.
In the heli community, there are several free simulators, for which one has
to buy or build the transmitter interface, and I thought such simulators
were available for RC cars as well.
I must admit that I had quite a positive attitude towards simulators. Some 8
years ago I bought the CSM heli simulator. In terms of today's computer
graphics it was really lousy. However, it was truely realistic (much more
than the fancy ones sold today). It was wroth the 150$ it had cost, since
after a few dozens of simulator hours, I just came to the flying field and
started hovering the heli, flying nose-in, to the amazement of all the
others around.
Anyway, off to the track...
