Hi, Im just getting into the Rc car hobby. I want a 1/10 truck to tool
around with in my backyard on the farm. Im looking for reliability and ease
of use as well as speed and such. From what i have read a 1/10 4wd truck
will do my good. My budget is $200 total. New or used doesnt matter. Hust
wondering what model i should buy, how much i should pay and any other
advice for a beginer.

Are you looking for electric or nitro? On that budget, the only nitro 4wd
truck I can think of would be a used .15 T-Maxx on eBay. But used nitro
may not be the best thing, I can see lots of frustration and heartache for
the beginner. If you want electric... I don't know enough about different
models to point you in the right direction, but be sure to factor in the
cost of a good charger and battery pack (I'd recommend more than one battery
pack, but you can pick those up later when you decide you like the truck,
cuase they aren't exactly cheap).
Whatever you choose, I wish you good luck!

Maybe what you should do if you're looking at nitro- Try to find a local
track or place where R/C people get together. Head out there on a race day
or whatever, and walk around. Just watch everything. Find someone you're
comfortable approaching (I'm sure most people out with their nitro trucks
would be more than happy to talk to you about them), and ask if they know of
any used trucks someone might be selling. Their also might be a bulletin
board, the old paper and staples type, and you can post a wanted ad their,
or look for selling ads on it. If you can do things this way, you'll have a
better chance of getting a truck in better shape, and you can learn the
quirks and characteristics of the individual truck you get and learn how to
overcome any problems it might have.
I'm just a little turned off by eBay right now seeing as 3 or 4 of my last
10 purchases have had major problems. But that's not to say that the used
trucks on eBay wouldn't work just fine. Good luck ~
