Just finished mounting Darth's new Bell 206 fuse to my Corona 120:)
The new fuse is easy to mount and did not require any mods except removing my cf fins. I cut out the side windows and added some lenomesh screen to keep the electronics cool inside.
Now I need to think about adding some detail and a color scheme.

Very very cool Aeropuppy, you said you used a lenomesh screen, could you post some close-up pictures of it? could you also post pictures of the method you used to attach the fuselage to the crutch? Also, did you glue or screw the seam line on the tail boom, and how did you connect the boom to the pod?
Thanks

Very cool. looks great. I have seen some people add the blinking navigation lights to their birds. that would look good with your conversion.

Also, I have seen several people with tape on the ends of their blades as you have. what kind is it and where does one get some from?

Thanks for the complements!

y_g,

I will try to get some close up pics of the screen and mounts later.
The lenomesh screen is the stuff used on backpacks; it's like window screen however it's made of a type of pack cloth nylon and it's black.
The fuse is temporarily mounted at the top of the JR landing gear with Velcro.
The seam line tabs on boom and tail boom to pod connections are all done with Velcro (industrial type)
I've got 3 FF flights in already and the temporary Velcro mounting seems to work fine as-is (it’s quiet and no rattles). I may add a couple of mounting standoffs from the crutch to the fuse to add a little more support to the upper part of the fuse (and use Velcro to attach them since it's working so well).

Mike Stammer,
You're the 2nd person to mention the lights - sounds interesting.
Don't let my pics fool you... the blades aren't taped, the stripes are done with a red sharpie felt pen ;)

job very well done !

perhaps painting the landing skids to white will make it even more "scalish. although, it looks grat as it is.

Hi Aeropuppy,
Boy, does the paint job make a difference...
I second Oded's opinion regarding the white landing gear. You could easily get away with about 2-3 coats of white spray paint, the results are great.
Nice job!!!

Very, Very nice. I like your paint job a lot! :)

I must say Darth also did an excellent job on the re-design.

Thanks for the complements! I may paint the gear later since I’m still thinking of adding led navigation lights.

Here it is with the lettering in the daylight and flying over the trees and flaring for a touchdown…

All you guys have done some awesome detailing. Aeropuppy, I use to live up your way until I moved down here end of last summer. I tell you, It is Hotttt!!! down here. And the bugs are a real pain. I definitely miss the weather. I lived in Tacoma and worked in Seattle.

Thanks, the finished product would not be possible without your excellent workmanship! :D
Do you miss the rain? We still get a lot of that but, as you know, the sunny days usually make up for it... give a shout if you're ever in the area again :)

Rain, did I hear (read) you say rain? It rained last week almost everyday serious down pours, all day long. The thunder and lightning was better than a fireworks show. Kinda makes you nervous though. Some nail bitters here. This week, its been raining almost everyday also. Boy, the mosquitoes are going to be a nightmare this year (already are). i feel like Im in a rainforest. So far as far as rain goes, its about the same here as it was there. The only differences is the heat and the bugs Arrrgggghhhh!!!!
