Finally built and maidened my Gentle Lady :) Everything went fine...I might start a thread here or in the Electric Sailplane forum sometime about construction/flying but for now I just have a question.

Does anyone have Gentle Lady 3-view drawings on their computer? (or on the internet) I wanna make a 3d-computer model of the plane for SSS so I can fly around in the sim. I already know how to 3d-model...just I need some reference pictures. I could just use pics of my GL or even the plans but I've got time and its easiest to work with already figured-out 3-views. If I use the plans I'd go into perfectionist-mode and have to get it just-right...if I use my plane its the same deal. If I just get 3-views without any scale, I'd be happiest :)

Ya mean like this one?
Measure yours, that's how I made this.
You don't need any fine structural details for a sim..

Nice. A 3-view wireframe is all I need...but now that you mentioned it, I think I'll just do mine by measuring my GL. I use free software called Anim8or (anim8or.com) and then export at .3ds Its not made for planes especially but I know how to use it well cause I've been using it for 3 years now just playing around. I already did this for my PT-40. With this one I'll be more precise about the aerodynamics settings in the sim(s).
Thanks,
John

p.s. can't wait to get home from school to make the model. hopefully this will solve my "can't wait 'till the weekend to go to the field" feeling all day long all week in school!

When you finish the plane can you post it to the SSS website? I'd really love to fly the plane. I prefer CRRCSim but try to get my fix of flying anyway I can. I practiced SSS for a few days before doing my first sloping trip. It helped some, but didn't predict what landing in the bushes would be like. ;)

Finished it.

Compare with:

I've gotta work on the colors more...and maybe even use a texture to get the trans.covering look (that way I can show the ribs).

I'm getting annoyed as I forgot the dorsal fin and washout.

Will go add those to the model...
