I have not seen the EP Hammer run, but I am curious about it. A good mate of mine has two of the Turbo Vee boats. The Turbo Vee and EP Hammer both have liquid cooled 550 motors and reversing ESCs. The Turbo Vee appears to have a scaled down Hammer hull. It is IDENTICAL to the Nitro Hammer hull, only smaller (and ABS). The EP Hammer is supposed to have a hull the same size as the Nitro, but made of ABS. The only difference between the EP Hammer and Turbo Vee appears to be the size. We have run the stock Turbo Vee with seven cells, and it runs great.

Hi harles,
Fellow Utahn here. I bought a Hammer EP (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBTE6**&P=ML) about 3 months ago and have been having a blast with it. I feel that for the money you would have a hard time finding a better boat. It is very similar to the Turbo Vee II (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCRM2**&P=ML) except the TV II has a 540 motor and a different radio. The Hammer has a 550 motor and a 75 Mhz radio with dual rate steering. I will say that the Hammer is way more stable in rougher water and wind. A couple buddies have the TV II and they cant run unless the water is relatively smooth and wind free. The Hammer is faster also, not much but a bit. Most of the parts apear to be the same. The ESC, shaft and rudder appear to be the same. The prop is exactly the same on the TV II, and both nitro and EP Hammers. Its a 32x55 incase anybody is interested.

Sounds like an awesome boat! I wonder what it would do with a 700 on 14 cells..... ;)

Funny you should ask. Theres a guy on Offshore's forum doing just that, check it out. He is re-inforcing the hull with fiberglass to handle the extra power and weight. Should be awesome!! I think thats alot of power for that boat. Its kind of flat on the bottom and rather wide. If it catches any air while running fast its gonna take flight.
