Does anyone know where I might get a replacement ceramic filter for a JR R700 receiver? It is marked with only M6J N V - I haven't been able to find out any data on it - if I could, I'm wondering if I could get away with an alternative unit.

Not sure what the filter is, I do know that when I reversed the power on my JR R700 it fried the surface mount capacitor just inside the power leading into device. I found a slightly larger version and just jumpered it in, fixing the receiver. If this is what you need I can send you one, I have an extra. Its surface mount and light brown, don't remember the markings and don't remember value but could find out if needed.

Thanks for the offer Steve, but this is definitely a ceramic filter, which is essentially a bandpass filter that filters the 455kHz intermediate frequency after the mixer. The benefit of the filter is that it has very steep sides, allowing it to only pass frequencies within a very narrow range - ie, 10kHz or less.
The device looks like this:

and is white - I assume there is one in your R700.
