I have come into owning a "ATWOOD OUTBOARD - 051 - Montrose Calif."
That is all thats printed on motor?
Does anyone know anything about this motor? $$ ?

Bill Atwood was (is?) a prolific engine designer. His 049 Cadet was an engine of the 60s as was his Wasp - and I think it was the Wasp which is in the outboard. He also designed an inline twin using the same layout and parts.
I've no idea of value, but the engines were readily available so there are probably quite a few still around. However yours as part of the outboard looks good so will have some value - there can't be too many of the outboard version around.

I see them a lot on Ebay from $100 on up they are really beautiful .

I had one in mint/new condition, but I can't find it!!
Its a neat little motor. Just saw one at a model show a few weeks ago too.

There are some avid collectors of outboards who might pay $100 for it if it is in running condition. I had a Wenmac twin once that was a bear to get running, had no water cooling, got very hot.
