I wanted to purchase a couple of remote controlled electric boats for my son and I to use at the local lake. May I please ask for suggestions on what to purchase for racing, scale and hovercraft? Kindly indicate name of boat, manufacturer and best website to purchase the boat. Thanks Phil

My personal recommendations::
For just plain fun, ZigZag Racers, at $80 a piece for boat, controller, battery and charger. hard to beat the fun value. (rec age 3 - 103)
Want to race each other and upgrade, twiddle with props/get serious, go to RumRunnerRacing.com and ask the same question, you'll probalby end up with an OvalMaster or some other nicely built boat, and the addiction will have begun. (rec age 10/12 - 103)
Father and son version of backyard bashing: go for box art boat, Kyosho, Cen or the like and spend whateveryou have a budget for and what ever looks like fun. (age 6 - 60, over that, you'll surely get carried away:-)
Low Budget water time: Scan the ads here and on other boards and get used Viper or Jetstream, Cen boats good as well. Have some fun fixing them up, and since you only spent less than 1/2 the original price, you won't cry so hard when number one son sinks number one boat :-(. (remember this is supposed to be fun) (4 - .....)
The last one is my favorite. I've got a flotilla for myself and 2 sons, and it usually takes us the better part of 2 hours to break all 5 boats and call it a day, and a good one at that.
PM if you have any questions.

My favorite ready to go boat is the two feet long atlantio which looks great, handles great, good value, comes complete with battery, charger etc ready to go. I have one new still in sealed box for £65 sterling plus postage if interested.
