Ok, I have gotten not too bad at flying the helo.
I can hover it fairly steadly and can get it to go where I want it to go
instead of where it wants to go.
The thud upon landing is not as sickening as it once was.
I want to try hovering it upside down.
What is the procedure for this?
I'll try it on the sim first.
Thanks,
W

First, train A LOT on the sim before you try to hover inverted at low
height. Go to http://www.raptortechnique.com/ to find the setup for inverted
flight.

Ok, well you say you have gotten not too bad at flying the 'helo'
I thik that you have to 'Hover steadily' and not just 'fairly steadily'
before you want to try inverted hovering!
You haven't even mentioned if you have done loops, rolls, etc yet. I think
that you're going to have to
be able to to accomplish these basic moves before going inverted!! plus work
on your hover till it IS steady,
and BE ABLE to land without ANY thud!

Loops and rolls are no problem, easy even....... and my hovering is not too
bad.
Why wait.
Live dangerously, that's what I say.
Go for the gusto and all that.

The old saying, start two mistakes high, is very appropriate here. I've
been working on my inverted hovers for some time now, but with a 30-sized
machine (Raptor 50), it's hard to tell its orientation at altitude, so I've
gotten a lot of practice falling out of the inverted hover at all
orientations. But altitude has been my friend numerous times as I fall out
of inverted. In my opinion, it's a lot easier on the sim than in real-life,
mostly because you know if you hit the ground upside down, it's probably
going to be a mess.
