I just bouhgt a X-Peak 3 charger
http://www.jamara-produkte.de/OSSHOP/product_info.php?products_id=408&produc
ts_model=
It only states that it needs 12V DC input, not how many amps.
Since the charger can give 3 amp I recon it needs at least 3 amps.
Was wondering if I could use my old powersupply from my old computer.
It has 12V DC at 9 amp.
Will it work ?

It might.
Most high-end chargers require 15Amps but they provide 5A for charging.
Some are ok with 10-12A...
I dont know if 9A will be enough for your charger, but there is
a chance it works fine especially if you keep the charging current low.
If your charger has a low power warning you'll be able to tell if its ok.
Give it a try.

Your computer charger puts out 9 AMPS???????????
Are you absolutely sure - that's a hell of an output for a PC charger are
you sure its not 900 milliamps????????????
Please double check before you fry something.

He is talking about his old computer's POWER SUPPLY, not charger.

AH found it..

I have not tried this and I don't endorse it in any way. You do this at you
own risk.

My mistake - I will graciously butt out as I clearly have no idea what I am
talking about - just trying to save someone from frying something!!!!
