Reflex/Reflex XTR has the most realistic physics engine..

I sold my RealFlight G2 after getting Reflex for the simple reason that I just couldn't stand the game like physics anymore after getting used to Reflex.

Don't know anything about Aerofly Pro since I never owned it.

my problem is that reflex doesent support my radio and thats why i am using realflight.
i want to move to something else like reflex but then i will have to buy another cable or something that will cost ...

what radio are you using? Reflex comes with leads for most radios, unless your using a Futaba 9C like me, which I have to buy a adapter for Reflex... However, it's less than $10...

Well, Reflex needs a real tx to work since it is a simulator and not a game.. There is a real advantage in using the same tx for your plane/heli and using the same tx on Reflex since the feel is the same and the switches are in the same position. See here (http://www.reflex-sim.de/english/rc.htm) for support info on radios for Reflex.

The Reflex software comes with the Reflex USB cable already.. It comes with the standard JR connector and two round cable adapters, one for Futaba and the other, I believe, is for Sanwa/Airtronic.. You won't need to buy an additional adapter unless you are using a Futaba 9C like me. :)

I just got reflex and after flying G2 and it Reflex is the most realistic. I also have the XTR Beta going (See my other post on this forum) and it is awesome. It really gives you the feel of flying at a real field. Even if you say you don't care what it looks like you just want realistic plane control you really need both to have the total picture and XTR gives you that.

When you buy Reflex it comes with its own interface as gregw said. That's the only one that it works with. Anyway why would you want to spend extra money buying another interface ?

i understand that it comes with its own but my friend buy the reflex and he is going to give it to me for a month but he cant give me the cable, so thats the reason, and exept that i am also think about the aerofly professional and i have to buy an interface cable for that simulator.

Well, Reflex doesn't work with any other cable except the Reflex USB cable. The cable is the Reflex "piracy" control device. If you want to try out how Reflex will perform on your PC, then you can actually download Reflex v4.03 here (http://www.reflex-sim.dyndns.org/reflex-sim/shop/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=28). After installing, you can see the demo flights by pressing "F9" and selecting one of the demo flights to play. You CANNOT fly the simulator unless you have the Reflex USB cable though..

No... The Reflex USB cable works only with Reflex... For FMS, you need to buy a cable that converts your tx to a joystick. For RealFlight, the current version only works with the Interlink USB Controller that comes with RealFlight G2.

The old RealFlight or RealFlight G2 will work with joystick as well.. This is before the current Interlink version where it will ONLY work with the Interlink USB Controller.

I have Real flight G2 USB and my joystick inputs are calibrated and functioning from my MS force feedback pro plugged into the sound card game port. Also, I have and prefer my Stylus 8 channel that I wired in. Neither reflex nor G2 has an adaptor for this Airtronics radio.

I am looking at buying Reflex but the Euro site does not list an Airtronics adapter of any type. G2 at least has an Airtronics adapter.

Tower hobby searches for the product are turning up blank today. Is this the best US place to purchase it? The European website leads me to believe the upgrade will be at no additional cost. If so, it will be best to purchase it now before the price increases for the new release.

Airtronics is called Sanwa in Europe. Sanwa is in the list.

That's the pin layout for the Sanwa/Airtronics 6000 series. (white=signal, bround=ground) The Vanguards look differently. Please make sure the crystal is removed while using your Airtronics. that will work with any sim, Reflex, G2 and AFP.

From the radio female the signal is the first pin to the left. The S-video casing/shielding is the ground.

Wolfgang,

A couple questions...

1) If I buy Reflex from an individual (used), will I be allowed to upgrade to XTR?

2) Is there a cost or is it a free upgrade?

3) If I can upgrade, do you happen to have a schematic for the 9C adapter?

I think I can answer two of the questions since I went through the same route to get my Reflex. :)

1. Reflex has NO Registration procedure. Physical possession of the Reflex USB cable is all that is required to prove ownership, so upgrade to XTR is no problem.

2. The upgrade is a "Pay-What-You-Want" scheme. Order it at Reflex (http://www.reflex-sim.de/) and the XTR CD will be sent to you for FREE. After playing with it, it is up to you how much, if any, you pay Reflex for the XTR upgrade. :p

3. Sorry, can't help you here since I bought my 9C adapter "off the shelf"..

That's the pinlayout for the 9C adapter. You COULD make it yourselve BUT you may not find the plug ... so better try to get it. Rajul posted a reliable source some time ago.

Thanks Greg, the rest is answered perfectly well.
