I am using old AM radio that was converted to 75mHz.
The 540 electric motor on Lobster Yacht with Rx is in same compartment as motor. Midwest Motor and mechanical speed control came as a unit. I am only getting limited range. Any simple ideas on shielding Rx.
Thanks

You can not just switch the crystals in any radio and change it from "72mhz, to 75 mhz", or "27mhz, to 75mhz",...etc.
The printed circuit boards will be out of sync, and not function as well. Spending $50 on a new two channel transmitter and reciever will serve you much better.

I had the radio converted and used in a sailboat. Problem is interference from electric speed boat motor.
How do i shield.
Thanks

You could try soldering some .01mfd capacators across the terminals, and back to the case. This might solve the problem. However, the brushes may be worn and are sparking too much and causing this interference. If they are too far gone, then it may be that the motor will need to be replaced.
Also, move any motor wiring away from the receiver and antenna, this could also be a source of RF interferance.

I have one compasidtor and going to add two more, neg to case and pos to case.
If not work then try moving Rx to back of compartment
Thanks

Use ceramic capacitors (i.e. non-polarized), not electrolytic
(polarized). Or, some other non-polarized type (the key is
"non-polarized") - ceramic are easy to find & cheap; some other
non-polarzied types may not be.
