Dear All,
My name is Peter and I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a “reinforcement” on the Mugi development team.
A lot of people will have heard/seen/flown the Twinwall Polypropolene (correx) delta designed by Morgan Wood.
Both myself a Morgan have done a lot of development of the winter and some exciting new models have come out of that.
If there proves to be enough interest we will release pictures, details and plans of the new models through our website www.mugi.co.uk
The website is currently about to be updated in the near future starting with an updated version of the old delta – The ‘Mugi Evo’.
The ‘Evo’ is the product of a lot of flying hours and is faster, more responsive and still cheap and quick to make!
Over the season we’ll be adding new designs, pictures, movies etc to the site and invite/encourage people to give us feedback.
It’s our mission to prove to people that you can make very light, cheap, strong, goodlooking and fast aeroplanes out of twinwall/correx using the right materials. Our proof of that starts here…. please find attached one (of many) of the new Mugi designs we’ve got waiting for you all.
I wish you all happy flying and I leave you with a sneak-preview: our version of the Messerschmitt ME109.
Kind regards,
Peter. :)

Peter,
Welcome to the RC Groups forums!
I'm assuming you're the same Peter that posed for this photo at the Walsall meet last year?

Looks good Peter - that'll give the correx Hurricane that we saw last season something to think about.
I'll move this to the Product Announcements forum which is set aside for such announcements.

Hi brian,
Thanks for moving it here in the product announcements.
I wasn't too sure where to start the thread but this seems more appropriate.
Cheers,
P.

I Have looked on your site but have not found Many "Kits"
I do not know how much time you guy`s have or how hard it would be to make a Kit out of this stuff....other than sending out hardware and corex But if you were able to send out sheets that were precut and just had to be folded i cannot see why corex planes could not become more widley used and excepted. I for one would buy a couple.....for instance that "Old" Evo looks WILD with the lights fitted INSIDE the airframe. I am sure i could blow a few guy`s away with some WOT passes at 10:30 @Night!

Dear Mal,
Thank you for your encouraging words! It's always nice to see people who 'have seen the light'! :)
As you may have noticed we've been changing/adding our site a lot recently. We've got quite a few more models under development using our latest building techniques. Working with twinwall is quick, clean and produces very little mess - and yes, it IS possible to build some very fast, strong and large planes that look nice and don't require 'gutter-pipe'. Our plan is to continue to release free plans but we're closing in on being able to offer complete kits in additition to what we're currently offering and whats in the pipeline. The trick is how to do that in a cost effective way whilst maintaining the standards that myself and Moogz have set ourselves. Currently we do offer to build Evos to spec for people that don't want to build.
As some people may or may not know, Mugi is a hobby and not a business with a large turnover and managed by people with a passion for Twinwall planes.
Kind regards,
Peter.
PS: Moogz has been experimenting with some wicked new LED's that are more colourful than a rainbow and brighter than burning magnesium! ;)

Dude, I have built 2 of the "old" Mugi design. Now you've obligated me to put together an "Evo". One of them has the lights and it looks dazzling at night. This new one will most definitely have the lights, as well. It will have a Himax 2825 -3600Kv motor turning a 6 x 4 prop, powered with a 3600 3-cell Lipo. I had this setup on a Micro-Jet and it clocked in at 106 miles per hour (I don't know what that is in Kilometers but it's a lot!), I crashed it on a low fly-by, so I guess this design will look good with all that speed. Guess I'll need a good sized carbon spar.

Thanks for your enthousiasm! Always nice to hear from people enjoying their Mugi deltas. Your setup will go nicely and give you plenty of speed although 100mph....maybe not. ;) I use a higher pitched prop. Try using a 5.5x5.5, 6x5 for unlimited vertical or a 6x6 for maximum topspeed (depending on your max current draw).
As for the new EVO...yes, you'll want a good sized carbon tube. (e.g: 6x4) This modification was made for use with high speed brushless motors. We recently have updated our website and now have a complete shop. We now ship Mugi Evo 'flatpacks' worldwide for $3,- postage! This kit comes with everything you'll need to build the very latest EVO design and includes the 2mm twinwall, hardware, carbon spar, instructions, glue, tape.....and cool pizza-style box.
Why not check it out: www.mugi.co.uk
Good luck with your new EVO and feel free to send us some pics of 'the beast'! :)

I am just about to order the New "Evo" with the lights. I do have a Mega 3 turn but was thinking on trying out some of the new HET Motors. I must say that the Low shipping rate was what put me over the edge on ordering one.

Hi Mal,
Thanks! Yep, sadly anything with a single dimension greater than 600mm or a total of w+l+h > 900mm will not make airmail and breaks into surface mail which bizarrely runs to tens of bucks for shipping. Redesigning the Evo to fold open like a travel Clue set turned out to be the answer!
Look forward to seeing how it goes with the HET - I've no doubt it'll be awesome.
