Hi,
Made some test with my GPS ...
My 1/10 Electric car, did as best 62.8 km/h ... around 40 m/h , it could have been also better with more in-line space for take speed ... (gps calculate speed over 1 second avarage, so it would need more space then my 100-130meters used for start & stop the car !)
It is good or bad for a basic 1/10 with 6 cells ?

Hi Kraeuterbutter,
It is quite some time ago that I did the 1st speed test with my GPS.
The car is a Kyosho KX-one ... something exotic in austria.
If I well remeber I have used a "bulky" GP 3300 , 6 cell pack, and a 8x3 Yokomo motor. The gear ratio was 30/120.
I made a forther test with a 2 speed gear (something rare for an electric car) and I got 63.7km/h.
Anyhow it is not a real high speed ... since both with my Twin Detonator and my Dirt Trasher I managed over 50km/h with some Conrad 600BB motors ... ok with 10 and 12 cells ...
I have also two Hacker motor : C40 8S , and a C40 9L ... still not done any GPS test with cars ... but I guess if I proper set up a car I can manage easily over 100km/h, even with 6 cells.
About RC interests ... I like every RC stuff, from Car (on-road & off-road, nitro & electro, from 1:8 to 1:64 scale) to Helicopters via byke, boat and airplane ...
Mainly in winter I fly Airplanes, while in summer I'm racing my F201 in a club.
Byke I ride time to times ... my indoor heli is taking some dust since I never find out the time for fly right, the boat it is still to build up .... like 2 other airplanes ....
I'm located around Eisenstadt und du ?

That sound strange !
I rember that I GPS measure 49km/h with my 10x1300NiCd 2/3SC Sanyo pack .... and with 12xGP3300 it was pushing much more !
I was using the 20T pinion , stock tires (now I have the 160mm), and 2x600BB Conrad motor (2x13 :D ) !
At the moment my Twin Detonator is taking dust ... but it is ready for the new tests with 4WS (2x5k Servos) , and 160x100mm tires ! ... The enthusiasm over it got away when I smoked my ESC due to the two servos and 12 cells fully charged ... 6-9 months ago ! ... for the next time I will use a little 5cell NiCd pack for power the servos .... but not sure if with such big tires I could go faster ... anyhow I'm already back to 18T pinion.
As well with my Dirt Trasher, after put on the 130mm tires from the TD, it is always cracking the main gears ... I'm using the 16T pinion and the 600BB with 10x3300 GP cells ! I will try in the future with 17T and keeping the 16T hole ... maybe will make the gear match more strong ...
So already with brushed motor I'm runing Tamiya gears ... so not so sure I want to jump soon on BL set up with my 1:10 cars ....

P.S: For offroad in the mountains ... so far most of the fun come out of my 1:5 offroad bike, the Ricky from RS (US ... not available on EU market ... so maybe mine it is the only one in Austria)
P.S: Are you "Harry" the 2003 RC3 champion ?
